Making TANGEDCO strong again
Tamil Nadu's electricity company (TANGEDCO) has lost more money than any other electricity company in all of India — ₹1.67 lakh crore in total. Every year, the government borrows money just to keep the lights on.
Every year we wait, the debt grows by ₹15,000 crore. This is money that could have built 14,000 new schools every single year.
If we don't fix this, electricity bills will keep rising, and industries will leave Tamil Nadu for other states, taking jobs with them.
"In 2005, Gujarat had huge power cuts. They separated their company and brought in partners. Within 4 years, they had 24x7 power for everyone."
When your area has zero power cuts even in the hottest summer months.
